Not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean a power adapter? There's no separate cable/wire for it - only a combined power adapter with a captive cable and MagSafe connector. A 2008 MacBook is not any "Generation 1" of anything. Depending on the model it would have been the 5th or 6th generation, although they carry the designation MacBook4,1/MacBook4,2.

In any case I think what you're looking for is a MagSafe 1 power adapter. These are still being sold by Apple. I'd even recommend getting the 85W version.

These are from the United States Apple online store (with links for the items from Amazon.com). Where are you located? We might be in a position to provide a better answer knowing that.

I can not seem to locate the MagSafe 1, only MagSafe 2 converters. The MagSafe 1 T shape is not there on the apple site.

The T-shaped head has been discontinued. However, the L-shaped head is fully compatible. I've got a late-2007 MacBook and a mid-2012 MacBook Pro and the power adapters are interchangeable and equivalent.

A replacement adapter might not be the same size, color, shape, or wattage as the original adapter that came with your computer. But it should power and charge your Mac like the adapter that originally came with your computer.
