5ghz WiFi not showing on iPhone 7

5ghz wifi on ASUS N66Ru showing on iPhone 6 but not iPhone 7 even when side by side?

Reset network settings, restored phone, nothing works. Please fix Apple. So many on going problems with Apple devices. One would be forgiven for wanting to move from Apple.

I do get it working when I reboot the iPhone 12 Pro, but after a short while the 5Ghz disconnects and then it is no longer visible in the list of networks to connect to. The 2.5GHz WiFi networks work fine and are always visible. Earlier I had the iPhone 11 Pro Max and it had no issues and was very stable. Strangely, resetting all settings (not contents) solved this issue.
