What makes you believe the photos are still there?
What do you mean it's acting like a new phone? If it's prompting you to activate it, then activate it. If you don't see your photos in the photos app, then they're likely gone for good.
I think the photos might be on there because I never deleted them or cleared the phone. There was music playing on it before I entered my passcode today, indicating my music was on there but, like my photos, the music is no longer accessible now that I signed in. Does that make sense? I’m holding out hope. I thought the phone would act like a hard drive and hold on to my photos
but after I used my password to get in the phone it seems like a new phone without any data. How can I access my photos that I believe are still I there?
What makes you say you believe it was like a new phone? Did you try and open the photos app and see if there pictures were there?
Yes I tried to open them and they seemed they there weren’t there. But before I entered my password I was able to play music I know was previously on my phone and I just remembered that the screensaver was a photo I took on that phone in 2013
There is no screensaver on an iPhone. There is a lock screen, and the home screen. How did you play music before you entered your passcode. Without entering the passcode, you could not access any apps. If you opened the device by entering your passcode and you looked in the photos app and there are no pictures there, I would say they are gone.
Thanks so much. It was the lock screen where I saw my old photo. So why would it have been there, but then disappeared when I got into the phone? It seems like it must be on there somewhere. I’m hopeful that I might be able to find them. Maybe I should get in person help for an IT specialist? Any thoughts?
If you can't find the photos on the phone now, and you don't have a backup, they are gone. There is no place to recover them from.
