iTunes randomly opening and playing media

iTunes keeps randomly opening and starting to play a song or movie or TV programme depending on where you left the application. This is with no input from me at all. If iTunes is already open, it'll just randomly start playing something and bring the iTunes window to the front. I have ALL of my media on a 12TB external Lacie RAID array and have done for a very long time. Up until now iTunes has remained open at all times so I can stream media to my ipad or apple tv and until 2 days ago i had zero issues and zero instances of this happening.

The only thing that has changed in my setup is the recent iTunes and High Sierra updates.

Does anyone have a fix for this? It's driving me mental!
