Question

voice recognition not working in numbers 4.3.1

Hi

I was using numbers 4.3.1 with voice recognition but it has now stopped. When I activate it it beeps but the incon does not appear and it does not work.

Works on other programs, Pages, Word etc.

Only thing I can think of is that some how I have done something with keyboard shortcuts and locked myself out. All the appropriate boxes are ticked in keyboard etc.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're having trouble with using VoiceOver in Numbers on your Mac but other programs work with no issue. I know it's important for this feature to work properly; I'd like to help. I'd suggest starting with booting your Mac in safe mode using these steps: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac
In safe mode open Numbers and test for the behavior, if it seems to be resolved restart normally and test again.

If the behavior persists in safe mode, use these steps to test for the issue in a new user: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Hi Jameson.h

I tried the above but in save mode the microphone icon was there but with a empty mike (if you know what I mean). I then restarted in normal mode and with the troublesome file the same thing happened no mike or edit no Start Speaking as it was greyed out.

It is working in other files so there must be an issue with that particular file.
