Why does Siri add a leading apostrophe to my name?

Whenever I use Siri on my iPhone to dictate a text or email and I say my first name it adds a leading apostrophe to it.

Instead of

Russell

it types

'Russell

I checked my personal info etc. and my name is not saved anywhere with a prepended apostrophe.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That didn't fix the problem but led me to the solution.

It turns out there was another Russell in contacts which had a leading apostrophe. For some reason Siri decided to use this one rather than any of the other three Russell entries to derive the spelling. Editing this contact fixed the problem.

Thanks for your helpful suggestions.
