Am I capable of transferring my iTunes credit balance to my Apple Pay account?

So I recently added a gift card to my Apple ID (iTunes) and was under the impression that it could be transferred to my Apple Pay Wallet. However, I’m having a hard time getting down to the bottom of my issue. Is that possible? I don’t ever make purchases in the App Store, so having that money on that account is basically useless. Can someone help!?

iTunes cards can only be used to make purchases in the iTunes Store.
