Battery temperature during charge

I have problems with my MacBook Pro mid 2014 retina.

Several times I almost burned myself on the charger connector. And the temperature on the battery is sometimes above 38 Celcius. This is a periodic fault, it does not happen every time.

It happened when I have used the machine and also when the machine was off.

I had the machine in for repair and they have changed the adapter. The adapter cable was brown because of the heat.

I have delivered the machine to service, but they say it is nothing wrong with it.

Any idea?

Is this still happening with the new adapter? If so you have no option but to return the machine for further investigation.

The important question is how long this heat takes to materialise and is it easily demonstrable to the service people.

Open SystemPreferences in the Utilities folder,

select "Power" on the left side, then read Health Information on the right side (about the battery):

Condition: should be "normal": anything else: replace the battery with a real Apple battery.

Cycle count: should be lower than 1000.
