How can I check that my phone is original?

Just bought an I phone x from a retailer shop, as I unopened it I couldn’t find the sim”pin” so I want to check if this phone is an original or duplicate?!

Both my 6S Plus and my 8 Plus came with the tool. That is, if it's bought directly from Apple.

I hear you. We've seen this question before.

One comes in the box? I've never heard of that and my unlocked iPhone 7 was purchased directly at an Apple Store. I have been given one (oval with a stem) at a cellular service provider.

All iPhones sold in the Great White North directly from Apple have the SIM Ejector tool with the phone. I've got 2 of them now.

But then again a paper clip works too.

That's different. Might be some sort of local/national regulation, like EU phones coming with a Lightning to micro-B adapter.
