Can I not even STREAM purchases made previously if my device is already associated with another Apple ID?

I mistakenly associated my computer with a different Apple ID without realizing that my computer had no longer been downloading all of my tv series and movie purchases automatically when I purchased them, as I had previously set it to do--apparently this was phased out, or something. So, now I cannot download, NOR STREAM my purchases, effectively rendering all of my non-downloaded purchases useless for 90 days. Can this be right??

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Correct.

View and remove your associated devices in iTunes - http://support.apple.com/HT204074

Wait the 90 days or contact Apple and see if they are willing to do anything about it.

Thanks so much for your response. So, there is no longer any way to download purchases made with this ID WHEN I purchase them vs. downloading them as previous purchases? I got locked out a long time ago, but I was still able to download purchases at the actual time of purchase, as there was a setting then that allowed this.

You can make new purchases, but you cannot re-download past purchases or use Apple Music or Match. It's a bit of a drudge but read the end of document I linked. The wait applies to re-downloading past purchases (you can make new purchases), automatic downloads, and iCloud basic services such as Family Sharing, Match, and Apple Music.

Thank you again Limnos for the info. I have read that document before, but the problem I am having is that automatic downloads of purchases do not happen every time I make a purchase (except for music and music videos, which ALWAYS download), and now, in itunes, I cannot even find the setting that used to be there for automatically downloading new purchases. The only setting is for "itunes can automatically download purchases you make on other devices", which seems inapplicable here. The prompt I received when I activated the secondary Apple ID on my computer warned me about not being able to download prior purchases, but made no mention of not being able to just stream those purchases, which was why I proceeded, thinking I could still stream. This should be made much clearer, in my estimation, before they lock people out. I purchased a tv series that I couldn't finish because, although I had previously set itunes for automatic downloads back when that was actually an option in the settings, unbeknownst to me, it was not actually downloading my purchases of tv series episodes. Thanks again for your assistance!
