Text messages

I'm trying to get my texts on my iPad as Ive lost my phone. I logged into my icloud on text messages but my texts haven't shown up as yet. Any ideas?

not sure exactly what you mean, an iPad and iPod touch can never receive sms they can only receiver iMessages where are really IM rather then sms to receive sms one needs an iphone to pass on the message to the other devices

Your texts have (for now at least) nothing to do with iCloud. Currently, iOS does not save iMessages nor SMS/MMS texts to iCloud (other than in an iCloud backup file).

If you have a backup of your iPhone that includes the SMS texts, you can restore that backup to your iPad, but that will replace the entire contents of the iPad with the contents of the iPhone.
