Document files vanished

Trying to drag Documents file to iCloud, it disappeared

MacBook Air, iOS 10.1.1

You are most kind to answer my foggy question. My documents seem to have reached iCloud, the problem seems to be that I have two Appel-IDs, and it is impossible to get to my documents from either of them.

Drag from where? You should see an option to save or upload said files to your iCloud Drive. Where are you trying to achieve this -- on a computer or iOS device?

Did you accidentally drop it in another folder? Have you tried doing a Finder search for the file?
