Question: Some install CD no longer readable by CD in Sierra 10.12.6

Some older install disks no longer readable by internal CD drive or external CD drive running Sierra 10.12.6. However, DVD disks do spin up and play. I suspect it may have something to do with the file system used in Sierra. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Running iMac late 2009.

It could be themselves that the install files on the CD don't work with the version of OS that you have installed now. Would depend on what you're trying to do. Does it do that on all CD's that aren't DVD's or just some of them?
