Creating Recovery USB via Boot Camp

Hi all!

Basically the Windows 10 update seems to of corrupted during the installation, and I'm stuck constantly booting up to a message box asking me to restart the installation.

The only option now seems to be creating a bootable recovery USB with a Windows 10 disk image but I absolutely don't have access to a another Windows system at this time and need to get this sorted ideally soon.

Is it still possible to do this with Mac OSX? AFAIK Boot Camp Assistant only allows for two partitions at a time so I don't know if I can create a secondary boot drive through there...

I don't have the disk originally used for Windows 10 unfortunately, and I don't think you can reactivate a previously bought license within Windows unless it was bought digitally.

Otherwise it's not a fresh installation, at least ideally — it's to try and reinstall the updates.

Having said that, USB 3.0 drive is also corrupted and failing to erase/format...

Microsoft's Software Download page allows free downloads of the W10/W8.1 installation media. W7 requires a Product Key. If you have installed W10 and activated it on a Mac, it can be re-installed on the same Mac as many times as you wish. The Windows activation registers the hardware signature of your Mac with Microsoft.

If you have a Windows System Restore point, you can roll back to it. Some Windows Updates remove such restore points.

If you are booted in macOS, then connect the drive, and post the output of

diskutil list

If this is a new installation of W10, use BCA to remove the current installation and install a new W10 copy.
