Mail needs apple ID

Mail needs lost password for old Apple ID. How do I get Mac to look for new Apple ID instead? Cant update Apple ID with old contact because old e-mail address does not exsist

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Mac Mail Account Password not recognized Hi after updating to 11.6.3, was asked if I wanted to use icloud keychain. Said yes. Now I cannot access emails on one email account. Password not recognized now. How can I retrieve the old password? Or do I need to contact my internet provider to reset?

'Password for iCloud needs to be updated' Hello there. I've recently updated my Apple ID with a new e-mail address. Since then my MAC keeps asking me to update password for the previous e-mail. Attaching the system pop up message. The old e-mail became the secondary e-mail. So I still have it in the list of e-mails (I think it is listed as a recovery e-mail) when I log into icloud.com . What is the problem? When I look up my iCloud account details on my MAC the old e-mail is listed as 'Verified' (whatever that means). If I try to enter my Apple ID password for this old e-mail the system says incorrect password. Thank you for helping! Mike

Be sure that you log out of your old Apple ID from your iMac, and then, log in with your new Apple ID.
