This device not supported by this iphone

I updated my software on my iPhone 8 yesterday. Now when I try using the lighting to 3.5 mm adapter it plays for a minute and i receive a message “this device is not supported by this iPhone”. The adapter is 3 weeks old, bought from an Apple store. I need this working today. Please advise

I’m sorry to say there may be no quick fix. Lightning connectors have a chip in them and that chip must be ’signed’, as in authorized by Apple. If they left out some chips then devices won’t work, as you have unfortunately found out. It may be something that Apple fixes, or it may not. About the only quick fix I can think of is to purchase another one - of a different brand - and see if that works.

Best Buy, Target and Walmart all say they have some, although that may vary depending on where you are.
