iPhone user trying to text me on my new Galaxy s8 but I'm not receiving it all all. WHY

Granddaughter is texting me from her iPad but I no longer have an iPhone, I have the Galaxy s8 and I'm not receiving it! Help please!!

So for years had no trouble texting people who didn’t have Apple phones from my iPad. Not sure if I screwed it up or how it happened. I know I have screw other things up trying to fix it. And even locked out of my account. I use to be able to text my son on my iPad now can’t. Why? And is this just the way it is?

is there a way someone can chsnge how text arr delivered to their phone? my daughter and i are on the same acct etc and all of a sudden my text to her go green. my son can text her right next to me snd his are fine. Is there a way someone can change how a message is received? My daughters all of a sudden go Green when I send but my son who can be right next to me go fine.

problems with texts Hi my daughter got a new Iphone 6 yesterday and in setting it up it's now sending her texts to my Iphone 5. We did use my apple account at first but then she got her own. It happens in both directions, so if I'm sending a text it sends back to my phone and to hers and if she's sending a text to someone else it also sends to mine as well as the original recipient. Any help please.

Since you are a former iPhone user, you need to deregister your phone number from iMessage:

Deregister and Turn Off iMessage - Apple Support
