Changed PSW and now iMessage won't work

Hi all, I recently changed my iTunes account password, and although I was able to get everything synced back up with my mac (FaceTime and iCloud) my iMessages won't work! I've followed all of the steps through apple, but it keeps directing me to put in my new password and saying I'm offline. Any pointers?
