What is /cores directory

There is not enough storage on the MacBook to check that the files in the cores directory are full.

Where are these files used?

Can I delete this directory?

You can safely erase those files and get much precious drive space back.

This is a folder where the OS stores core dumps. They are produced in some cases when an application crashes.

This may be useful for developers to debug their code but is meaningless to common users.
