When trying to access my usb portable drives (storage and external DVD drive) on my mac, I get the following message "Can't be opened because the original item can't be found".
I have tried closing everything and re-starting my computer - hope someone can help.

Can you try restarting your computer?
where do you try to open them ? in finder ? or some old alias you made to it?
first try in finder and then look in disk util
