iPhone - Can I add a compass to Google maps?

Google Maps on iPhone - I know that I can have the map either static or rotating to the direction I am going, but I would like to have a compass on the map so that I can see my compass heading.

Is this possible, please?

The standard Compass on my iPhone is brilliant, but a Compass on the Google Map would be very helpful.

Just as, in traditional navigation, I have a paper map and a compass together.

I think you should try and contact Google Maps developer's team and ask them if they're going to introduce that feature.
