bound print version of my iBook?
Can I create a bound print version of my iBook? Does Apple do that or would I have to find an outside publisher?

If you are set on using iBooks Author, you may consider starting with the print content first since it will not contain any multi-media, and then use the print material to flow into iBooks Author.
Also, depending on the type of interactivity planned for the book, you may be able to add it to the print material and export as EPUB, depending on which app you use for the printed material, rather than trying to go from digital book to print book (backwards of what most would do).
Suggestions
- Write book in app such as InDesign or Pages
- Use this to export PDF / generate Printed book
- Use InDesign / Pages to flow content into iBooks Author and export electronic version of book
- Use InDesign / Pages to export as EPUB (accessible on all devices)
- Use exported EPUB or InDesign markup (IDML) to import into iBooks Author to create multi-touch .iBooks file (limited to Apple dives
- Use Pages content to flow into iBooks Author. You have your choice of multi-touch (.ibooks) or EPUB (.epub) templates to use. The .ibooks templates will be limited to Apple devices, while .epub is universal. There is also a using the .ibooks format being sold on platforms other than the iBooks Store. Offering it for free in that format is ok, just not sold. Check Apple Distribution Guidelines Publish and sell books on the iBooks Store - Apple Support
The main question is who do you want to make the electronic book available to and how much multi-media content will be in the electronic version of the book.
No. not of hand. But there's nothing really out of the ordinary about it.
i.e People can make a digital iBook first, and still have a printed version of it made later or at the same time.
I don't understand the issue. Having an iBooks version does not preclude a printed version from existing.
The main issue, now resolved, was whether Apple could publish the physical book. But I'd also like to show a concrete example of an iBook-to-print book to a colleague who is thinking of starting out with a multimedia iBook and then creating a physical book that would consist of text/images plus disc with audio/visual material as an insert.
Apple does not publish physical books.
You would require an outside publisher to make a physical run of your Book.
Do you know of any examples of books that have started as iBooks and then went onto the market as print books?
