Memory upgrade IMac G4 1ghz

I awant to updgrade my memory in my IMac G$. I am looking to use an Ultra DDR ULT31664 1024MD PC32oo 400HZ DDR memory module. Are there any problems associagted with installing this memory module?

IMac G4 1 GHz, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Which iMac 1 GHz do you have?

The 17" iMac 1 GHz uses

PC2100 (266) DDR 2.5V 200-pin SO-DIMM in the user upgradeable slot.

PC2100 (266) DDR 2.5V 184-pin DIMM in the Apple installable slot.

The 15" iMac 1 GHz uses

PC2700 (333) DDR 2.5V 200-pin SO-DIMM in the user upgradeable slot.

PC2700 (333) DDR 2.5V 184-pin DIMM in the Apple installable slot.

I have Have an iMac G4 1GHZ 17 inch. I want to know if an Ultra DDr Ult 31664 1024 PC3200 400Hz DDR 184 pin 1GB will work in the factory slot. If not are there any brand recommendations to add a 1GB memory in the factory slotAlso, is this memory ECC or non ECC?

As far as I'm aware, you can only upgrade the iMac G4 1GHz 17" to 1Gb of memory total. 512Mb in the user slot, 512Mb in the factory slot =0)

Well it's DDR RAM of a higher speed so should drop down from 400MHz to 266MHz to match your iMac's memory bus. If you've got the RAM lying around it's worth trying but I wouldn't actively buy the wrong spec.

Try one of the Mac friendly suppliers on this page (link).
