I have an early 2009 iMac with 10.9.5 that can't be upgraded to High Sierra. Where is the link for upgrading to El Capitan? Do I need to upgrade first to Yosemite then El Capitan or can I upgrade directly to El Capitan? Thanks

I have a 2013 MacBook Pro and was attempting to get the new macOS High Sierra. In attempting to upgrade, it said I can only upgrade from the OS X El Capitan or the other program. I downloaded the El Capitan and installed and now it’s asking for a four digit passcode. What do I do now?! I’m a little frustrated.

I think the pre-requsite to install from is to have OS 10.7.5 or higher already on there and then you can go to 10.11
