I see that no one has responded to your post. If you can provide answers to the following questions, it may help the community to better understand your issue:

1) Can you please describe what you were doing when you encountered this error message?
2) Which version of OS X or macOS are you currently running on your machine?
3) What kind of Mac are you using? Please provide the year and model identifier if possible.

I’m having the same problem. I was trying to update two apps before updating new OS. App updates failed so I tried installing new OS. Get the message mentioned earlier. Every time I restart I have to enter my MacBook Pro password. It then goes to the mentioned message/screen. I have a MacBook Pro model A1286. Not sure if the year. It is an earlier keel.
