How do I turn on the speaker during call?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.2.6

Lynn Porter,

Hmm, do you mean the loud speaker so that you can hear the phone without holding it to your ear? If so, there is a Speaker icon on the screen while the call is active. Just press it.

If you mean something else, see this:

I just want to activate the loud speaker so I can put the phone down. The speaker icon is not on the screen except at the beginning of the call. I can chose speaker when I call out or first receive a call. But once I'm talking, the screen is dark. Even if I hit the home button, the audio options do not show. Thanks for your assistance, MrBill3
