Iphone 8 plus stopped pairing with my airpods.

Iphone 8 plus stopped pairing with my airpods. I tried manually pairing it by going to my bluetooth settings and manage to connect the phone and airpods but when I open spotify or itunes airpods get disconnected. I also tried manually changing the listening options through spotify and itunes but the airpods would not pair. my software is up to date, my phone is fully charged, aipods and case are at 100%, I restarted my phone and it didn't work, removed the airpods from the bluetooth list and connected them again but it didn't work either. I put the pods back in the case and tried all the options again and that didn't work. I also pressed the button behind the case to see if that would fix it but it did nothing.

I don't know what else to do and I'm getting really frustrated as the headphones were expensive in the first place and I haven't had them for more than a month and they are already giving me issues!
