I am having trouble with my shift key. I brought up the Keyboard Viewer and it looks like the shift key is working intermittently. Is there something I can do? Or should I bring my MacBook Pro into the Apple Store?

I would not advise trying to fix a key yourself.
In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test.
