Paypal as payment option with family sharing?

I do not own a credit card and I do not want one. My payment option for Itunes is Paypal, which is linked to my bank account. I recently set up family sharing with my daughter and since then Itunes keeps asking me to verify my payment method. Does family sharing require a credit card or will it work with paypal too?

takes you to:

Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID - Apple Support

where it says:

Some countries and regions can use PayPal or mobile phone billing (through supported carriers).
