Is the Apple Super Drive Worth It

I recently purchased an iMac that does not have a slot for cds or dvds. Is the Super Drive worth the money? have read a couple of reviews dating back to 2016 and was wondering if anyone has recently purchased one and is not having any trouble with it.

External DVD/CD optical drive and external SSD storage drive recommendations for 2019/2020 iMac 27 please! Yes, I know this machine is basically obsolete, but I snatched up a bottom of the line model (256 GB SSD) brand new at a GREAT price. I'm not a power user. SuperDrive Compatibility. Question about compatibility of SuperDrive with 2/3 years old MacBoook Pro: I’m planing to purchase MacBook Pro 15” 2017/18 model without an optical drive. But I still need occasionally burn audio CDs. Will I be able to use SuperDrive?
