Editing a small audio portion

Hello,

It is my first into this, and would appreciate if you can help me understand how to edit a selective audio portion,

from my WAV file, so I can use a third party plugin to affect only that region.

I already know how to open the WAV file and select the portion I want to, but how to use, for example, my restoration plugin to eliminate and fix a distorted artefact, only from that particular region from the whole WAV file.

Any help appreciated as I am stuck 😟
