Force restarting iPhone 8 plus, is the power off screen supposed to come up?

I have a iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.5.6. I have tried to force restart my phone multiple times (bc it is just acting weird) using the volume up, volume down, hold power button process. EVERY TIME the power off screen comes up. I continue to hold until I see the Apple logo. On the instructions I do not see where it will say that the power off screen will come up. Also the videos I have watched it does not do that either. Am I doing something wrong? Has this happened to anyone else? Or is this the way it is supposed to do? With my previous iPhone (6), the power off screen did not come up.
