How long does it take Apple to unlock an Iphone

I called T-Mobile Wednesday (7:00pm) to have the phone verified that it can in fact be unlocked. They submitted a request to Apple and said it would take 24hrs. It is now Friday morning and the phone is still not unlocked.. any ideas or suggestions I should take?

Apple has no involvement with a carrier lock. Only T-Mobile can provide the unlock code.

"After you submit the request, it might take a few days to complete. To get your request's status, contact your carrier."

I don't know that Apple is involved in this at all. I know when we unlocked a phone with ATT there was no Apple involvement and it took less than a day.
