I am unable to see what songs playing in control center or the music app on my iPhone. HomePod does show up as an airplay device, but I am unable to choose or ser which songs playing or control the music from my iPhone (unless using AirPlay, which defies the purpose a bit).
Help?

I'm using Anyone On the Same Network and it works for me. Is the HomePod showing up properly in the Home app?

Could your network be set up using any wireless isolation feature which give wireless devices access to the Internet but not devices on the same network. Try rebooting the router, iPhone and HomePod, and if needs be use Reset HomePod - Apple Support to set up the device again from scratch.

Yes, HomePod shows up correctly in the Home app.
