Question: doesn't recognize disk

I recently used disk utility to erase a thumb drive. Doing it there you have to choose a format, I thought I chose the correct one, but now my computer doesn't recognize the disk. I must have chosen the wrong format. What can I do to get my MacBook Pro to recognize this disk again? I think I chose Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Thanks

Carl
