Sound keeps randomly turning off on my new iPad (5th gen). Have to restart to get sound back.

very random, happens several time throughout the day, does not seem associated with any particular app. I can listen to something (radio, music, video etc) it will work until I finish with it but the next time I want to listen to something (same thing or different thing) the sound may or may not work.

Sound on iPad went out. Can’t get it back. Tried all solutions listed on this page. The sound on my iPad stopped. I have tried all the troubleshooting ideas that I read, with none restoring the sound. In settings, when I click on Sounds, and the click ringer tone I hear the sound, but, there is no sound for anything else on the iPad (e.g. YouTube, video, gaming). any ideas?

iPad sound control, loud or off 2018 iPad Pro 11-inch. The volume control on this iPad has been doing a strange thing. While streaming radio to an external speaker for background music in my office, the volume is either too loud (you could hear it during a phone call), or off. Sliding from Off on the far left to the right, the slider moves about 10-15% of the way before it kicks on too loud. Slider in control panel the same. Button control on side the same. This was happening earlier, but I would restart the iPad and the finesse of sound returned (sliding even 1-2% produced soft volume and incremental from there). But now restarting is not fixing. No finesse. Either off or too loud. Any help appreciated.
