Can’t clear recent handwritten notes from Apple Watch messages

Currently it seems in messages on Apple Watch there is no way to clear the recent list for handwritten messages. When in messages, tap the emoji, then swipe right all the way over. The latest hand written messages “hello”, “thank you” show up. I have a custom handwritten message in this list that I want to delete, but there is no way to delete it. It doesn’t show in recent on iPhone or ipad... usually tap and hold will allow deletion on iPhone and ipad, but not Apple Watch.
