Non-Apple wifi router?
I’ve been running an AirPort Extreme 802.11n (4th Generation) for quite a while (obviously). Now with a proliferation of WiFi devices can’t seem to get good signals everywhere. A couple of Apple TVs, iPads, Rokus and iPhones, plus multiple computers and smart bluRays that sometimes stream programming.WiFi is needed on both stories and basement. Much of the House has plaster walls and the farthest-away devices seem to get sub-par signal, even after trying the Airport in multiple places.I’ve seen good reviews of Netgear AC1900 Nighthawk (R7000) and Linksys AC2600 (EA8500).They seem to be rated better for signal strength. Also have a Sonos One in the kitchen and It seems Sonos says is pretty precarious with the use of WiFi extenders (not really sure what those are).Would the Netgear or Linksys be a better bet? Anybody have experience with either/both?Also concerned with compatibility with devices. Don’t want to fight dropped signals and be reconnecting phones or computers or Apple TVs to network every week or worse.
