iPhone 6 Messages Blank
My text messages are suddenly all blank. It looks like I have no messages, even though I'm getting them. I see the preview and it shows up on my Apple Watch but when I go into messages on my phone (iPhone 6) nothing appears to be there. I don't believe they're deleted, but rather just not displaying for some reason. When I open Messages it defaults to the "New Message" screen. I tried sending a message from there but even though it will let me type a message and select a contact, it won't send the message. When I cancel out of the New Message screen, it shows the main screen where all my messages should be listed but it's blank.
When this started yesterday I was still on iOS 10. I tried closing Messages and restarting the phone. I've tried toggling Messages off and on. Last night I successfully updated to iOS 11 thinking that would help, but it didn't. I was able to send messages from my apple watch yesterday prior to updating to iOS 11, but after the update I can no longer send from my watch. I may need to do an update on the watch to fix that.
I do have a 3.5 year old that occasionally uses my phone. He typically just plays on Youtube but it's possible he changed a setting. I just can't figure out what he would have messed with that would be doing this. There aren't that many options in Message settings.
