Question: Email and Apple ID

I have just bought the iPhone 6s and I want my email to be connected to the mail app and not my iCloud.com mail, but when I go to add another email it says the mail can’t be the same as my Apple ID, but that doesn’t make sense because on my iPhone 5s it was the same. What can I do?

I understand from your post that when trying to add your email account to your iPhone you are prompted with a message saying that your email address cannot be the same as your Apple ID. Make sure when you are setting up your email account that you are following the steps from this article and choosing the email provider from the list shown:

Set up an email account on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
