final cut pro
why does final cut pro library take 45gb but i have no footage on it.

Render files and transcoded media are usually what takes most disk space.
You can select the library and do File->Delete Generated Library Files, check all the boxes and get that space back. Make sure that in the preferences you have the boxes for transcoding media on import unchecked.
