Cannot download Year Walk Companion App Anymore on Itunes

Basically, it keeps giving me the message "App Cannot Be Downloaded At This Time". The artwork doesn't show when downloading either, just a bunch of lines like a test pattern. This was on my Ipad2, which I have tried everything from resets, to hard resets, logging out then logging back in to the Itunes Store after resetting, Changing The Date, etc. Nothing fixes this problem, which I've never experienced as I've been able to download this app before until last night and this morning.

Doing it on my PC computer doesn't help either. It just stops, says "Cannot Download Artwork. Please try again by clicking 'Check All Available Downloads' in the Store Menu". That doesn't help either.

I was in touch with Apple Support and they checked my Ipad2, my software. Asked if it was a storage issue. Tried clearing space and, unfortunately, it hasn't solved the problem either.

They can't do anything further, asked me to get in touch with the developer. Sent an e-mail to the developer, which I highly doubt they'll respond to.

That's why I'm putting this question out anyway because this is serious if a popular app can't be downloaded for some reason. What is going on? Why can't Apple fix this problem with the developer themselves?

I'm sure that was a rhetorical question, but just in case. Why would Apple be responsible for non-Apple app development? Apple does provide these developers access to pre-release Apple operating system to for them to work their respective app bugs. It's really up to the developer to do this testing BEFORE they release their apps to the general public. If Apple developed this app, I would totally agree with you that they would be the responsible party to get it right.

I'm just frustrated and dismayed. Because I don't know if the developer will ever respond since they're based in Sweden. All I could find was their info@ e-mail.

I really want to play this game as I did multiple times yet how can I without the Companion App? "But you don't need it. Just use a Walkthrough". Sorry, I enjoy the companion app as a well-written addition to the lore as a tool to get the secret ending.

FWIW. I have used companion apps for a number of games that I have played over the years. The last one was for Mass Effect. In my experience, I was fortunate to not have any issues with either the PC or iOS versions from the developer, but I can understand your frustration in this case. However, there is nothing your fellow Apple-product users here at the ASC forum can help you with with respect to this developer and you will need to work it out with them directly ... assuming they are still in business of course. Good Luck!
