Exporting from iMovie

I've just made a short movie clip of the family for my a part of my Mother's Day gift in iMovie. Its around 30 minutes long and when I come to export it to a memory stick for her it saves a QuickTime video. This is fine, however when I go to open the QuickTime clip to rewatch the video I have just made, it won't play!

Am I doing something wrong or is there another way I can do this?

Trimming Clips in Quicktime and importing to iMovie So I've got a ton of my daughter's soccer games and I want to trim out her plays from the QuickTime movies and import them to iMovie. Yes, I know I could just import them to iMovie, but honestly, I can't spare the hard disk space for all of them. Is there a way to trim a clip in QuickTime and then import (copy/paste) them into iMovie where I could then adjust/trim them? I see how to trim clips, but I don't see how to paste them. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

iMovie wont let me save or export my finished product MY IMOVIE WONT LET ME SAVE OR EXPORT MY FINISHED PRODUCT. I HAVE TRIED TO SAVE IT TO THE IMOVIE LIBRARY BUT I DON'T HAVE IMOVIE LIBRARY SO HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SAVE IT WITHOUT IT MESSING UP MY FOOTAGE [Re-Titled by Moderator]
