Apps Opening on Restart

I have several apps that keep opening on start, even though I do not have any in systems preferences that should open on computer start. I also have the "reopen windows upon logging back in" option unchecked. I have tried restarting, shutting down, and logging off completely. This happened before and after installing High Sierra. Any tips on what to try? This has been going on for over a week.
