i have downloaded whatsapp with my friends appleid. afterwards i have created my own.now i want to update whatsapp and it is installed on my friend appleid and update is asking for his appleid password which i didn`t know.

The fact is that your friend owns Whatsapp as it was obtained using her/his Apple ID. You do not own Whatsapp, and therefore can never update it (and should not use it).
Delete Whatsapp from your iOS device(s). Then "purchase" it (whether free or not) from the App Store using your Apple ID.
