Recovery mode won't install because of Beta?

(I realize I meant to post in the High Sierra discussion, but if anyone has any answers I would love to hear them. Thank you!)

Hi all, I'm having an issue with my early 2015 MacBook Pro with Retina. I upgraded and got a new laptop and went to wipe everything off the old one. Well I did, and when I went to reinstall a macOS all it could find is the Beta that was last installed. I picked it and after like 40 minutes it gave me some error. I tried to boot it up to the os that it came with but it keeps showing the Beta. I opted out of the beta before I wiped it but, obviously, it was still installed. How can I fix this without having to pay geek squad for a brand new os? Thank you!

Back up your data. Try booting into Internet Recovery (command - option/alt - R on a restart). It is a slow process. This will install the newest OS that the computer is compatible with. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Quit Disk Utility. Then install the OS.When the computer restarts, you can use Setup Assistant to restore your data from Time Machine.

Even if we're not doing anything with the beta, just trying to download the correct version of High Sierra it can't be discussed? I can't contact apple because the warranty/care period is long over.

You will need to address your issue with Apple as we are not allowed to discuss anything beta related so it will not violate your non-disclosure agreement or the ToU here. I'd foregot the Geek Squad - I'd think they would not know how to address a beta issue.

Well, the point is this: aside from Apple's reasons (which we are not privy to) and the agreement you signed, anything on a machine with a beta may be caused by the beta. And, unless I was running the exact same configuration and unless I was familiar with the quirks and glitches of a beta, I wouldn't be able to give you sound advice because I wouldn't be able to reproduce your problem.

And yes, you can a) detail the problem via the built in Feedback Assistant and/or b) take your machine to a Genius Bar - the diagnosis there is free.
