Sound variance

I have a 80Gb Ipod classic. All songs have been downloaded through ITunes. When plugging my Ipod to my radio via auxiliary, my songs will vary in sound (decibels). Some loud, some not so loud. Very distinctive. Can this be fixed ? A little pain in the "you know what" when having to adjust volume for different songs.
