Why isn’t my iPhone 8+ connecting

My iPhone 8+ won’t connect via USB to my car. I’ve tried different cords (all original apple lighting cords) and every time my car says ”No supported audio formats found” but when I plug my moms iPhone 8 & sisters 6s in, it reads it just fine and allows music to play. This is very annoying. My cars firmware is up to date. I used to be able to connect without issues but stopped being able to do so after several software updates. Fix it or I’ll never purchase another iPhone again. Bring back the audio jack. The lighting port causes so many issues 🙄

Hello Rikkiella22,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are having issues with using your iPhone with your car stereo via USB, even though other iPhones aren't having the same issue. To help resolve this issue, please follow the relevant steps from this resource on your situation.

If you're using USB Playback

  1. Restart your iOS device and your car.
  2. Connect your iOS device to a different stereo USB port (if you have one).
  3. Try a different Lightning to USB cable.
  4. Update your iOS device.
  5. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.

Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.
