How do I retrieve my documents folder back from the trash can. It was next to it and I moved it by accident

Based on your other post, that was the Dock icon, which is just an alias to your Home folder-> Documents


From the Finder look in your home folder, and just click and drag the Documents folder to where it was on the Dock.


While dragging, DO NOT let this drag go into the trash, as this is the real Documents folder.


Once you have your Dock Documents icon, you can Control-Click on the icon to set how you want it to display.
