Different Apple Models

Hello, I noticed the model which seems to be used for the US market is the A1865 and for the European market it is the A1901. They are both have the same specs except for the fact the A1865 is CDMA capable. I need to know if the A1865 will work in Italy since I am living/working in Italy, as an American citizen attached to an airbase in Italy.Thank you.

If iPhone Is simcard free then it should work OK.
